Electrosil is the name given to an advanced chemical process that has been developed over the last several years by LM Electroplating Industries. All modern aluminium cylinder bores utilize an electroplated coating to enhance wear characteristics and to provide high temperature heat resistance and heat transfer for continuous service.

The Electrosil coating enables worn and damaged (Nikasil/Electrofusion) cylinder bores to be re-coated to extremely precise bore dimensions and surface hardness. Generally most cylinders have a 0.004" to 0.006" cylinder coating. We are able to re-coat cylinders to manufacturers standard sizes or to an oversize alternative.
